The Basilica of San Benedetto, is built over the birthplace of St Benedict and St Scholastica.
The Basilica opens each day at 8:20 AM and closes at 8:15 PM. (Closed Tuesday from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM)
Guests and pilgrims who wish to come and spend some time in prayer with the monks are always welcome. We have a small guesthouse where we can accommodate men who wish to closely follow our life. If you wish to reserve a room, please contact the guestmaster at: email@example.com

Meeting the Monks
Fr. Cassian is the Prior and founder of the monastery. He was born in Massachusetts, grew up in Connecticut and became a monk at St. Meinrad Archabbeyin 1979. Fr Cassian was ordained a priest in 1984, received his doctorate in liturgy in Rome in 1989 and became the president of the Pontifical Liturgical Institute in 1992. He founded the monastery in a small apartment in Rome in 1998 and moved the community to Norcia in the year 2000 at the invitation of the Archbishop of Spoleto-Norcia.
